Meet the Minds: The People of atNorth

In this edition of our Meet the Minds series, we sat down with Anders Larsen, who joined atNorth earlier this year as Senior Customer Support & Implementation Manager in Denmark.

With over two decades of experience in IT, colocation, and customer service, Anders has witnessed first-hand how rapidly the industry has evolved – from increasing power densities to the game-changing emergence of AI clusters and direct liquid cooling. His deep understanding of customer needs and his ability to turn ideas into fully operational deployments make him a vital part of atNorth’s journey, particularly as we prepare to open our first Danish data center, DEN01, and support ambitious AI-driven growth across the Nordics.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your role at atNorth?

I started with atNorth on February 1st, 2025. My role is Senior Customer Support & Implementation Manager in Denmark, though in practice I get to work across the Nordic region. Since DEN01 is still under development, I’ve also had the privilege of leading the implementation of a major contract signed at ICE03 in Iceland. It’s been an exciting way to dive in and see the business from the inside out.

Tell us a little about your career journey so far.

I’ve been working with IT and customer service since the late 1990s, and in 2005 I moved into data center colocation. Since then, most of my roles have focused on design, implementation, and customer service.

Over the years I’ve watched power density increase dramatically, but nothing compares to the latest developments in AI. Seeing rack densities reach 100kW+ along with direct liquid cooling (DLC) solutions has been a true game changer. It’s rare in an industry like this to witness such a fundamental shift – but AI clusters are reshaping the way we design, build, and operate.

What’s been one of your most memorable career moments?

There have been many memorable moments, but what really stands out is watching a project grow from a customer’s initial idea through designs, drafts, and data center deployment – all the way to their IT installation going live. Knowing that our work underpins the services and businesses our customers deliver gives me a strong sense of impact. And soon I’ll be adding another highlight to that list: seeing DEN01 welcome its very first customers.

Looking five years ahead, where do you see yourself?

I imagine I’ll be in a similar role, but the landscape will have evolved significantly. Technology is advancing at such a rapid pace that we’ll likely be supporting IT platforms that don’t even exist today. That’s where atNorth’s flexible design philosophy is so powerful – it gives us the ability to adapt and support both current and future needs seamlessly.

What are you most looking forward to this year at atNorth?

As a Denmark native, seeing DEN01 powered up and open for its first customers will be a milestone moment. Beyond that, I’m excited to witness the continued growth of our campuses across the Nordics – particularly the ambitious AI deployments driving expansion at ICE02 and ICE03 in Iceland.

Which of atNorth’s values do you feel most aligned with?

That’s a tough one, because both Dependable and Flexible really resonate with me. With my role being customer-focused, it means I really have to deliver on both: staying reliable while also adapting quickly to meet new challenges and opportunities.

Finally, if you could sum up working at atNorth in three words?

Entrepreneurial – Even in my short time here, I’ve seen how fast-paced our development is and how quickly teams come together to adapt to change.

Passionate – Every colleague I’ve met is not only an expert in their field but also genuinely committed to our shared goals.

Fun – Working with customers, suppliers, and colleagues should always have an element of fun along the way.
