Why Sweden?

The perfect location to reduce your carbon footprint

Sweden is a frontrunner in reliable, low-cost power, leveraging a combination of locally produced hydropower and a year-round mild climate that provides natural, free ambient cooling. This makes Sweden an ideal location for cooling data centers, supporting an exceptionally low Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE).

Sweden balances the natural advantages of a cool, stable environment with the created advantages of affordable, renewable energy and a robust infrastructure, making it a compelling location for data centers.

1 – Sweden’s natural benefits

Data centers in Sweden benefit from:

  • A year-round mild climate that supports free ambient cooling for reduced operational costs and low PUE.
  • Access to affordable, renewable energy sourced from hydropower and wind energy, minimizing carbon footprints.
  • A solid, modern power infrastructure that ensures reliable and sustainable operations.

2 – Why choose Sweden for your data center?

Sweden stands out as a secure, green, and digitally advanced location for data operations:

  • Affordable green energy
Sweden has announced a goal of becoming the world’s first fossil-free welfare state. The country plans to achieve net zero emissions by 2045 at the latest, and negative emissions thereafter.
  • Circular economy
Waste heat generated by data centers can be captured and reused to heat homes in local communities, promoting sustainability.
  • Excellent connectivity
Stockholm is a hub for Nordic data centers, handling 55% of total Nordic internet traffic. It is the largest colocation market in the region, supported by 125+ active network providers.
