October 2025 Meet Ida, Site Selection Manager Norway Blog About us Home Insights Blog Meet Ida, Site Selection Manager Norway Meet the Minds: The People of atNorth This month in our Meet the Minds series, we sat down with Ida Eline Fuglevik Dahler, who recently joined atNorth as Site Selection Manager for Norway. With a background spanning land use, infrastructure projects, and property rights, Ida brings valuable expertise to atNorth’s mindful expansion into the Norwegian market. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your role at atNorth? I joined atNorth on the 1st of July this year, so I’m still very new to the team. My role as Site Selection Manager Norway is an exciting one, as it means I’m responsible for identifying and securing the right locations for atNorth’s continued growth in the region. With the data center landscape rapidly evolving, every decision about where and how we build has a big impact on both our business and the communities in which we become a part. Tell us a little about your career journey so far. My career actually began in a very different, but related part of infrastructure development – securing land use and legal rights for towers and antennas to build 4G mobile coverage across Norway. That early role gave me a strong foundation in negotiations, regulations, and the importance of clear agreements when it comes to land use. From there, I then stepped further into the legal world as a deputy judge in the land consolidation court, which deepened my understanding of how property rights and disputes play out in practice. Afterwards, I returned to consulting in land and rights acquisition, before taking on a role at Sporveien AS in Oslo, where I worked on land acquisition to expand the tram and metro systems. Each step in my career has been about connecting infrastructure with people, ensuring projects move forward while respecting the communities they serve. What’s been one of your most memorable career moments? One that stands out to me wasn’t a huge infrastructure project but a very local dispute. Two neighbours had taken each other to court over where their property line ran – and in the end, it turned out they were really arguing about a single tree, and who should care for it. That experience reminded me that at the heart of land use lies not just property or boundaries, but our relationship with nature itself. Every decision we make about land touches people, communities, and the environment around us. It’s this same perspective I’ve seen woven into atNorth’s ethos – where, for example, every new site we build isn’t just about infrastructure, but about respecting the land, the communities we enter, and the environment we share. Looking five years ahead, where do you see yourself? Hopefully still at atNorth, helping to expand our presence not only in Norway but perhaps even further afield. The opportunity to grow with the company and take part in its ambitious journey is something I’m very excited about. What are you most looking forward to this year at atNorth? Learning – a lot! There is so much knowledge and expertise within atNorth, and I’m looking forward to absorbing as much as I can while also making sure atNorth establishes a strong footprint in Norway. For atNorth, it’s not only about growth, but about making sure we do so in line with ever-evolving customer needs and the increasing sustainability demands of our industry. Which of atNorth’s values do you feel most aligned with? Dependable: this value resonates strongly with who I am as a person. Being reliable, consistent, and someone people can trust is something I value highly, both in my professional and personal life. Finally, if you could sum up working at atNorth in three words? Since I’ve only just joined (and had 10 days of vacation in between!), it feels a little early to fully capture the experience. But if I had to put it into words, I’d say: welcoming, ambitious, and dependable. Share
