High performance is never accidental. Whether on a slalom course or inside a high-performance data centre, results are built over time – through preparation, resilience and, most importantly, people.

This International Women’s Day (IWD), we are reflecting on this year’s theme, Give to Gain. For us at atNorth, it is more than a slogan. It is a principle that underpins how we grow as a company, as an employer, and as an industry player.

When we invest in our communities, our people and our sector, we strengthen the ecosystem that sustains us. Growth becomes shared, opportunity expands, performance follows, and success prevails.

The concept of ‘Give to Gain’, comes to life across three pillars for atNorth: community engagement, employee development and industry leadership.

Community: Growing With the Regions We Call Home

atNorth operates across the Nordics in locations where energy, climate and technical expertise create the right conditions for high-performance digital infrastructure. But infrastructure alone does not create long-term success. Long-term success is built through strong relationships with the communities around us.

Our approach to community engagement is grounded in listening. We seek to understand local needs, expectations and ambitions so that we can co-create initiatives that deliver meaningful, shared value. We do not simply operate in a location; we seek to be part of its long-term development and shared progress.

Community investment is about building relationships, supporting education and opportunity, and ensuring that the regions enabling our growth also benefit from it. When communities thrive, businesses thrive.

One example of this in action is our support for Icelandic alpine skier Sonja Lí Kristinsdóttir. At just 19 years old, Sonja represented Iceland in the slalom and giant slalom at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina. As the reigning Icelandic champion in slalom, her journey reflects the discipline and resilience required to compete at the highest level – qualities we deeply recognize across our company.

For Sonja, success has always been collective.

“Success has never been something I achieve alone. Growing up in Akureyri, every coach, teammate, family member, and even local companies who support us helped me push further, train harder, and dream bigger. Each contribution, big or small, makes it possible to compete at the highest level. Even on the international stage, I carry that support with me.”

Sport brings together people of all ages, backgrounds and genders. Through our sponsorships we’re proud to support activities that create equal opportunities, promote wellbeing, and foster stronger connections within communities, which is why atNorth continues to lend support where possible for a whole host of initiatives across the regions where we operate.

Employee Engagement: Empowering Talent to Grow

If community is the foundation, our people are the engine. atNorth’s growth has accelerated in recent years. We have expanded our footprint, technical capabilities and client base. None of this happens without an engaged and empowered workforce. We believe in creating an environment where individuals can grow professionally while shaping the company’s future.

Camilla O’Leary, Director of Client Management, is one example of this journey. Joining atNorth in 2024 as Sales Director, Camilla transitioned into her current leadership role as the company evolved. With a background in mechanical engineering and nearly a decade in the data centre industry, she combines technical expertise with relationship-building leading some of our most strategic client partnerships.

Her experience reflects the culture we aim to cultivate:

“Supportive, collaborative and empowering – that’s how I would describe atNorth. There’s trust here. You’re given responsibility and encouraged to take ownership, which makes the work incredibly rewarding.”

Camilla is also actively involved in mentoring and supporting women across the digital infrastructure space, reinforcing the importance of visibility and shared experience.

Her trajectory is part of a broader story. In recent years, atNorth has strengthened female representation across senior leadership and specialist roles, reflecting our belief that diversity of perspective strengthens decision-making and long-term performance.

Today, women hold senior roles across sustainability, design, operations, strategy, security, marketing and people leadership – shaping some of the most critical areas of our business. These appointments are not symbolic. They reflect a deliberate focus on building strong, capable leadership teams equipped to guide the company through rapid industry change.

Their presence reflects a conscious effort to foster diversity of perspective at leadership level – not because it is symbolic, but because it drives better decisions, stronger teams and more sustainable growth.

Supporting employees means more than career progression. It means providing mentorship, encouraging cross-functional collaboration, and creating space for individuals to shape their own paths.

When we invest in our people, they invest back into the business with commitment, innovation and leadership.

Industry Engagement: Strengthening the Sector Together

Digital infrastructure is evolving at pace. As demand for AI and high-performance computing accelerates, so too does the need for skilled talent and inclusive leadership.

atNorth recognizes that shaping a resilient, forward-looking industry requires collective action. That is why we actively participate in industry organizations and initiatives that support professional development and gender balance.

In 2025, atNorth committed to sponsoring the Infrastructure Masons IMWomen program – an initiative designed to increase awareness of digital infrastructure careers and create meaningful pathways for women across the sector.

IMWomen delivers events, masterclasses and partnerships focused on retention, skills development and advancement. The program aligns closely with our own priorities around workforce development and long-term industry sustainability.

As Eva Sóley Guðbjörnsdóttir, CFO and Deputy CEO at atNorth, explains:

“By investing in initiatives that support the career advancement of women, we aim to help create a more equitable and innovative digital infrastructure industry for the future.”

Industry engagement creates ripple effects. When organizations collaborate to elevate diverse talent, the entire ecosystem benefits through stronger leadership, broader perspectives and deeper innovation.

Give to Gain is not limited to our own workforce or local regions. It extends to the industry that underpins our digital society.

Investing in What Sustains Performance

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women contributing to atNorth’s success in our communities, across our teams and throughout our industry.

From the slopes of Akureyri to leadership roles across our business and partnerships shaping the sector, the message is consistent: when opportunity is supported, talent thrives.

Give to Gain is about recognizing that shared progress strengthens us all, and that sustainable growth is built together.
